چکیده

TOPSIS is a multicriteria decision making technique based on the minimization of geometric distances that allows the ordering of compared alternatives in accordance with their distances from the ideal and anti-ideal solutions. The technique, that usually measures distances in the Euclidean norm, implicitly supposes that the contemplated attributes are independent. However, as this rarely occurs in practice, it is necessary to adapt the technique to the new situation. Using the Mahalanobis distance to incorporate the correlations among the attributes, this paper proposes a TOPSIS extension that captures the dependencies among them, but, in contrast to the Euclidean distance, does not require the normalization of the data. Results obtained by the new proposal have been compared by means of the three Minkowski norms most commonly employed for the calculation of distance: (i) the Manhattan distance (p=1); (ii) the Euclidean distance (p=2); and (iii) the Tchebycheff distance (p= ). Furthermore, simulation techniques are used to analyse the connection between the TOPSIS results traditionally obtained with the Euclidean distance and those obtained with the Mahalanobis distance. © 2014 The Authors; Published by Elsevier B.V. Intelligent Decision Support for Business Workflow Adaptation due to Subjective Interruption

Interruption is occurred by partial participation of workflows with adding new activity to a worker. A concerned worker to the interrupted workflow must restructure task assignment to improve consumed operating time by interruption. An opportunity of decision making is occurred to the workers to select appropriate tasks. However, preassignment of tasks to workers includes an expectation of supe...

A Composite Weight based Multiple Attribute Decision Support System for the Selection of Automated uided Vehicles

This paper proposes a decision support system which integrates the objective weights of importance of the attributes as well as the subjective preferences of the decision maker to decide the composite weights of importance of the attributes. Using fuzzy set theory the qualitative attributes are converted into the quantitative attributes. Based on this model, a decision support system AGVSEL is ...

An Application of the Integrated IBA-TOPSIS Model in Supplier Selection

The supplier selection process attracted a lot of attention in the business management literature. This process takes into consideration several quantitative and qualitative variables and is usually modeled as a multi-attribute decision making (MADM) problem. A recognized shortcoming in the literature of classical MADM methods is that they don’t permit the identification of interdependencies am...

Extension of the TOPSIS for Multi-Attribute Group Decision Making under Atanassov IFS Environments

This paper extends the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) for solving multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems under Atanassov intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) environments. In this methodology, weights of attributes and ratings of alternatives on attributes are extracted from fuzziness inherent in decision data and making process and described u...

A Fuzzy TOPSIS Approach with Subjective Weights and Objective Weights

Multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) is widely used in ranking one or more alternatives from a set of available alternatives with respect to multiple criteria. Inspired by MCDM which are methods to systematically evaluate alternatives, we propose a new Fuzzy TOPSIS for evaluating outsourcing software companies both using subjective and objective weights. While crisp data are inadequate to m...
